TRAVEL ALERT: Earthquake hits off the coast of PNG; tsunami warning issued

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre has announce that based on data gathered, the tsunami threat following the earthquake has mostly passed.

A magnitude 7.4 earthquake has struck just south of Papua New Guinea at approximately 11.44am AEST.

A tsunami warning has been issued within 300km of the epicentre, including islands in PNG, Solomon Islands, Indonesia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Indonesia and the Philippines.

No significant damage has so far been reported.
