Travel Alert: Bangkok- 15 dead after explosion at Ratchaprasong Intersection

At least 15 people have been killed and 20 others injured in a motorcycle bomb explosion at around 19.10 (local time) on 17 August near the Erawan Shrine at Ratchaprasong intersection in the capital Bangkok. The authorities reportedly neutralised two other devices at the site, which remains cordoned off with a significant security force presence.

Travellers in Bangkok should minimise non-essential movement in central areas overnight on 17-18 August and strictly avoid the vicinity of Ratchaprasong intersection.
