Fog rolled into Canberra about 7:00pm last night, forcing at least six flights to be diverted to Sydney. Canberra Airport said the level of delays were unusual for the capital. The first flight into Canberra arrived about 8:00am, despite fog still engulfing the capital at 9:00am.
Passengers leaving Canberra this morning could expect delays. “Normally the aircraft that come here at night and park here overnight are the first flights to go out in the morning and there is usually no probably getting out on those flights even when there is fog. “But there were some delays last night due to the fog and that has caused some disruption his morning.“ “The approach is clearing now so we’re optimistic that the aircraft will be able to get into Canberra so that we’ll be able to get everybody back on schedule,”
