In observance of Ramadan, Gulf airlines Etihad and Qatar Airways will have some restrictions in the service of alcohol in airport lounges and during flights.
Ramadan will be celebrated this year from 18 June to 16 July.
While Etihad will continue serving alcohol in international lounges, it will be hidden from display in the bar area during daylight fasting hours. Etihad’s Abu Dhabi lounges will not be serving alcohol during daylight fasting hours in observance of local customs with bars only open from 7PM to 3AM during Ramadan. Alcohol will be served as per usual on all Etihad flights.
Qatar Airlines will continue to serve alcohol on all flights during Ramadan, and in their London Heathrow Lounge. Alcohol will not be served in Doha’s Hamad International Airport, including all lounges.
Etihad will be serving alcohol on flights and lounges as per usual.
