Singapore Airlines is due to launch its new Premium Economy Service on key Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-300ER routes from 9 August 2015.
Beginning with Sydney, Hong Kong, London and Paris, it will soon be rolled out to other Singapore Airlines top-tier destinations.
The Airbus A380 will be fitted with 36 Premium Economy seats, while the Boeing 777 will have 28 seats.
The seats will be up to 19.5 inches wide, with a pitch of 38 inches – an improvement over the standard Economy seat measuring 19 inches and a 32 inch pitch.
Each Premium Economy passenger will have their own AC power sockets, USB plug, a socket for airline-supplied active noise-cancelling headphones for the 13.3 HD video screen.
Other luxurious features include Singapore Airlines Book the Cook service which allows passengers to order inflight meals in advance, champagne on the menu, an amenity kit and access to priority check-in and baggage handling. Passengers travelling on Premium Economy are also allowed a checked baggage allowance of 35kg, up from 30kg in Economy.
The first Premium Economy flights between Singapore and Sydney will be on the Airbus A380 SQ221/222 service which departs daily from 9 August 2015. It will be followed by the SQ231/222 service on a Boeing 777 flying from 12 August 2015.
